Summary
In a land inspired by Japanese feudalism and inhabited entirely by cats, Ika Chu, a high-ranking official of Shogun territory, aspires to expand his vast palace. However, it lives next to the poor village of Kakamucho. Hoping to get rid of it, Ika Chu plans to force Kakamucho residents to abandon their city by sending his second-hand Ohga-led bandits to the city rubbish. The townspeople demanded that Shogun appoint a new samurai to protect them after the previous one escaped. Ika Chu, hoping to upset the townspeople, decides to appoint Hank, a dog prisoner who will be executed as Kakamucho's samurai. After an initial hostile reception, Hank relies on the help of Jimbo, a catnip -adddled samurai who reluctantly agrees to train him to defeat the townspeople. While training, Hank suppresses Sumo, a powerful general sent by Ika Chu to evict the townspeople faster with the help of Jimbo. The townspeople began to see Hank as a hero, but his new popularity ended up in Hank's head, and he neglected his training, which led to a clash between him and Jimbo. Ika Chu takes Hank to a private nightclub to distract him as his thieves throw Kakamucho away. Hank returns to the devastated city and, after a heated argument with Jimbo, he decides to return home, but his own origami reminds him of his samurai oath. Meanwhile, Jimbo tries to break into Ika Chu's palace, hoping to free Sumo, who is captured by Ika Chu's allies. Hank returns to help him. Upon hearing of Sumo's escape, Ika Chu recruits a band of thieves to defeat Kakamucho. Hank returns to Kakamucho and explains his plan to defeat Ika Chu's army. The people of the city then make perfect paper copies of the city and themselves as diversions. When raiders attack the fake city and the number of ignorant people trapped by the Hank atomic bomb, the bomb explodes and the townspeople attack the thieves. Shogun arrives, who asks the ruckus. Ohga accidentally reveals Ika Chu's plan to him, causing Ika Chu to escape. Hank then chases Ika Chu to his palace, where he beats her on his huge Jade toilet. Which overflows and threatens urban flooding. Hank warned Kakamucho residents of the impending floods and led them in digging canals to divert water around the city safely. With the rescue of Kakamucho, the interested Shogun decides to appoint Jimbo as the new samurai, but he gives Hank the title. However, Hank feels that he is not completely ready, so he ends up giving the position to Emiko, a kitten who wants to become a samurai as well. Hank and Jimbo continue to train on their own time, with their relationship repaired.
