In the near future, environmental disasters will force mankind to abandon the earth and venture beyond the solar system in search of a new home. Exodus ends when mankind settles into a new holy world, which they call Nova Prime. A thousand years later, The Ranger Corps, a peacekeeping organization commanded by General Cypher Raige (Will Smith), came into conflict with S'krell, a monster who wanted to take over Nova Prime. Their secret weapon is the Ursas, a giant predator that hunts for 'sensing' fear. Rangers fight against Ursas until Cypher learns how to completely eliminate his fears, a technique called "ghost". After teaching this technique to other Rangers, he led the Ranger Corps to victory. Meanwhile, Cypher's son Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) blames himself for the death of his sister Senshi (Zoë Kravitz) in the arms of Ursa. Not wanting his father to fail again due to her death, Kitai trained hard to become a Ranger like Cypher. His application for the Ranger Corps was rejected due to his carelessness and Cypher considered him a disappointment. Kitai's mother Faia (Sophie Okonedo) persuades Cypher to take Kitai on her last trip before retiring. Forced together by mission, father and son begin to relate to each other during the journey. However, their spacecraft was caught by an asteroid shower, forcing them to land on Earth, now a Class-1 isolated planet. Cypher's legs were broken and the main emergency lights were damaged. Cypher instructs Kitai to find the stern of the ship that broke apart during the crash. Inside are speakers that they can use to signal the Nova Prime. Kitai was given a Cypher's Ranger weapon, a wrist-contact device and six oxygen expressions, so he could breathe because the human lungs could no longer withstand the earth's air. Cypher warns him to avoid animals and plants that have changed since humans left, and to be wary of global warming. Kitai goes to the tail section Kitai was attacked by a giant monkey and bitten by a venomous worm after resisting Cypher's command to try to escape. Although Kitai successfully administered painkillers, his two oxygen cells were damaged and his nervous system was shut down for hours. When Kitai wakes up, he escapes the planet's intense heat transfer, and when he finds his broken shell, he lies to Cypher. That night, Kitai listens to Cypher tell him a story when he is attacked by Ursa, how he realizes that fear is just an illusion created by the idea of the future, and so he first begins to "ghost" himself from Ursas. Choose to live rather than let his enemies both fear and Ursas decide his fate. The next day, Kitai reaches the top of a mountain and Cypher learns about Kitai's broken oxygen. Assuming that Kitai would not have enough oxygen, ordered him to abandon the mission. Believing that his father still sees him as frustrated, Kitai blames Senshi for the death of Cypher, who was away from Nova Prime on the day they were attacked. Set to prove his father wrong, Kitai jumps off a hill but is caught by a large condom that breaks his front / wrist contact in the process.
