Summary
An exhibition of the American Museum of Natural History frightens the last guard, much to Larry Daley's displeasure. Teddy Roosevelt and Sacagawea tell him they want their son Nick to take over after some hesitation that Larry agrees. Nick himself is struggling as he wants to get involved in school jazz chanting as their DJ and so he can stay close to his Crush Mia. Although his teacher, Montefusco, saw the promise in him, Nick believed he had failed. Larry explains to Nick that while he is guarding the History Museum in Japan, he will fill him at home. Nick thinks he will fail, but Larry manages to get his ex-wife Erica to agree.
Nick is reunited with the rest of the gang, including Rexy, Attila, Jedediah, Octavius, Laa, Dexter the monkey and Joan of Arc. His first task is to lock the storage room in the basement, but after encountering all the scary things downstairs, he uses the statue to close the door and runs away in fear. Kamunrah, who was locked up, broke away and stole a tablet that brought the exhibition to life in Striving to rule the world. The chase took place through the museum, but he managed to escape. Nick and his friends leave behind him while Rexy is behind the museum. While outside, Joan has a vision that shows her that Kamunrah is on her way to the Museum of Natural Art, where an exhibition on Dendur Temple is being held.The group catches Kamunrah and chases her through the art museum. In reserve, Kamunrah brings to life the god of chaos, Seth, who uses his powers to keep the hero. They found a painting that led to ancient Egypt and went into it. With only a few hours left until dawn, Nick and his friends also entered the mural. While crossing the Nile, Nick begins to feel hopeless as Kamunrah's escape is his fault, but the team gives him encouragement. They finally reach Dendur and escape a series of traps before reaching Kamunrah and Seth, who plan to use the tablet by playing three records to undo the Egyptian army on them.The battle in the temple took place, with Nick finally overcoming his insecurities. He plays a reverse record that makes the tablet suck the wolves Seth and Kamunrah. Nick and his friends escaped, but the sun was already shining. Remembering that there was a poster of the museum that Sacagawea had given him before, they used it to get home in time. Nick finally has the confidence to successfully try jazz again, this time starting a date with Mia and accepting his role as the new night watchman at the museum.
