Summary
Some time after Shrek Forever After, Puss in Boots hosted a party at the mayor of Del Mar, when after a rocket fired during a fight with the governor's men, he launched a massive attack. He was able to defeat the giant, but was suddenly struck by a bell. When he woke up, he was told by doctors that he had only one life after he fired eight bullets and asked him to retire immediately. Initially, Puss rejected it, but after losing his match and his sword to a wolf wearing a black shirt at a nightclub, he sought refuge in the home of Mama Luna, an elderly pet cat. Perform a funeral. As time went on, the bearded Puss met Perrito, an optimistic dog who pretended to be a cat. The map takes the three of them to the Dark Forest, which slides into different landscapes depending on the map holder: Puss and Kitty get two identical hell settings, while Perrito gets a quiet and colorful forest. Puss shaves his beard by Kitty and even gets rid of the stick he holds as his substitute sword that Perrito uses to capture him by Jack in the process. Goldi and her team immediately intervened and a fight ensued. In the midst of the turmoil, Puss sees the wolf wearing the hat again and runs away in fear, disturbing Kitty and allowing Goldi to get the map.
With Perrito reassuring him, Puss reveals he deeply regrets leaving Kitty on their wedding day. Kitty overheard their conversation and later revealed that she had never been to a wedding, feeling that she could not compete with someone who loved her more than she loved herself. The two manage to download a map from Goldi's team when the map shows their wooden house. When Perrito's dimension is left and captured, Puss is accidentally trapped in the "Cave of Lost Souls" after touching the map, leaving Kitty to retrieve Perrito.
Inside the cave, Puss encounters a reflection of his past life, mocking him for changing his attitude. The wolf wearing the hat also emerges, revealing himself as the real creator of death, and now he wants to take Puss's last life as revenge for the destruction of his previous successor. Frightened, Puss hurriedly ran away with the map, an act that Kitty and Perrito saw in the distance. Meanwhile, a frustrated Goldi has revealed that she will want a human family by destroying the bears that still support her. Arriving at the star, Puss has to face Kitty, who feels betrayed by his selfishness.
Goldi and Jack's team arrived soon and another fight ensued. During this time, Jack is thrown into his magic bag by Kitty, while Goldi rescues Baby Bear when he is almost thrown from the stars, and Perrito manages to convince Puss that one life is enough. . Moments later, death appeared and a violent attack erupted between him and Puss. Puss controls the wolf weapon and boldly declares that while he realizes that he can not overcome real death, he will not stop fighting for his last life. Arrogant Death decides to leave Puss, noting that he no longer sees the arrogant "legend" who believes himself immortal. Before leaving, the wolves assure Puss that they will meet again, which Puss recognizes in Death's mutual respect.
Then Jack the Giant got out of his bag, ate some magical cookies, and grabbed a map of Puss and Kitty. When he tries to make a wish, Perrito bothers him long enough for Puss, Kitty, and Goldi to retrieve the map and tear it to pieces, knocking the Wishing Star down and eating Jack when it explodes. Goldi eventually accepts part of the Bear family and begins to take over Horner's realm, while Puss reconciles with Kitty, promising to live together. Moments later, the two and Perrito, now called "Friends," stole a boat from the mayor of Del Mar and boarded a boat to meet "old friends" when they saw the palace in the distance.
